Dear Flicker,
Last weekend, you turned 35 weeks old inside my belly. You are growing bigger and bigger everyday. Like one inch bigger every week and seeing my belly swell like this makes us all the more so excited for arrival.
A lot of our friends know how long we waited for you. They have been so generous in sharing their joy when they learned we are pregnant with you. Oh, you're still in my belly but a lot of people love you already! They all can't wait to meet you!
Proof was how they stealthily planned a baby shower/maternity photoshoot surprise for us last weekend.
Daddy told me he was driving us to Nuvali for an outdoor shoot (I've been requesting for this for the longest time. And I thought, well at least he's giving in, just 2 weeks away from you reaching full term). But before heading to Nuvali, we had to make a few stops. Exactly 11am, we headed to the 2nd stop which was Evia Lifestyle Center.
I normally am good at catching these types of surprises but guess what, it was so under my radar, I didn't have a single clue I was walking into a party last Sunday.
I ended up looking mad because I was trying to hold back tears (that eventually fell down anyways, haha). Just look at this photo. It took me so slow to process my emotions, I was not able to react pleasantly when our friends all yelled "SURPRISE!!!!"
I couldn't believe they all gave up their Sundays with the family to spend this precious time with us! They bought gifts for you as well as for Ate M. My heart swelled (almost as swollen as my belly). They made sure Ate M won't feel left out amidst all these excitement. How generous could that get?
To top it all up, they also hired a photographer to get us some decent photos. If you must know, I hardly looked at the mirror these past few months. Even if I felt joy each and every time I feel you move and each and every time I see my belly grow (indicating you are healthy and good in there), I felt like my attractiveness meter is dropping as well. So I hardly look at mirrors. Especially when I'm at home.
But last Sunday, I finally felt the pregnancy glow that they're talking about. Thanks to our patient photographer as well for guiding us away from our awkward poses.
I will let pictures talk from hereon. I just wanted to make sure this is well documented :) (I have yet to catch up with my weekly photos of my belly but we'll get to that soon).
Love,
Mommy
